Swing The Bucket…To start a golf swing, you need a forward press to set off the action. Imagine you are in your stance holding a bucket of water with your hands on either side of the bucket. If you’re going to swing it, you’ll naturally rock forward a bit to create the reaction needed to give momentum to the backswing. Your hands will follow your turn. Your left heel will rise. If you grip too tight, you’ll turn fast. Grip lightly, you’ll swing slow and free. Use this image…it works.

Wrist Hinge…When you swing back to waist high (shaft parallel to the ground), the toe of the club should be pointed straight up to the sky. If it is, your wrists are already hinged and you don’t have to think about it. To picture how the wrists hinge, make your left hand into a fist (right hand if you’re a southpaw) and make a golf swing. Watch in front of a full-length mirror to see what position the club will be in as you hinge, then unhinge and hinge again at the finish.

Ball Position…The Driver and a teed-up fairway wood should be played off the heel of your forward foot. This way, you catch the ball on the upswing or the lowest point of your swing. With other clubs, the ball position should move back a fraction on an inch at a time until dead center for your 9-iron.
